The Local Artists Gallery at 124 E. Main St. Rogersville held its annual indoor garage sale September 8-10 to raise donations to support the Gallery, and the community’s participation was greatly appreciated.
Located in historic downtown Rogersville, the Gallery offers a variety of local arts and crafts for display and sale, including paintings, woodworking, textiles, jewelry and more.
There is a multitude of talent in East Tennessee, and their artists are all from the region and work in a variety of mediums. Everything you see in The Gallery has been produced by your neighbors.
The Gallery is trying to complete some upgrades and improvements, which is why your donations are so appreciated.
Our priority is to improve our lighting so that the community can better benefit from what their artists are doing.
One artist said: “You know Morristown has art in the park, our gallery has art in the dark.”
Art is an exceptional medium, some people are born with talent, and some must learn it over time.
Classes are held at The Gallery, including two adult classes on Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Their children’s art class takes place on Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. to noon, where children learn different methods and mediums intended to spark their interest and develop their talents.

The gallery is owned and operated by artists. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. Monday to Saturday. And the eGallery is also open in the evening during events organized by the City of Rogersville.
