Popular Christmas Arts and Crafts Exhibit Opens at QUBE Gallery in Oswestry


Qube has unveiled its popular Christmas arts and crafts display, offering shoppers a range of quirky seasonal gift ideas that also help support the charity’s ‘community good’ services.

This year’s festive exhibition brings together an even wider range of high quality seasonal arts, crafts and accessories produced by artists and makers from Shropshire and the Welsh Borders.

Featuring the most diverse collection of original works to date, the highly anticipated exhibition includes original paintings, illustrations, sculptures, glassware, ceramics, woodturning, knitwear, felting, bags handbags, jewelry and more. For a festive finishing touch, there are also Christmas cards, gift wrap, gift tags and tree decorations to browse.

For those who love recycling, look for Team Sikel’s earrings, cable organizers and desk tidies made from perforated bicycle inner tubes, and Michele Coxon’s papier-mâché animals sculpted from plastic. old bank statements. All of the items on display are on sale, offering quirky, imaginative and some quirky gift ideas for all ages from under £2.

As well as showcasing and supporting the talent of local creatives, a portion of sales from the exhibition goes to fund Qube’s growing range of art, wellness and transportation services which are a lifeline for many people.

Now in its 30th year, the Oswestry-based charity provides transportation and Shopmobility solutions, arts activities and classes, friendship groups, volunteer supply, social prescribing and community support. health awareness, among other vital services, to improve community wellbeing in North Shropshire and bordering Welsh counties.

Qube’s new Head of Arts, Gemma Manning-Bentley, said, “The Qube Christmas Exhibit is full of beautiful and quirky objects, all lovingly crafted by local artists and makers. What’s great is that you can do more than just admire the many amazing creations on display. You can buy them and take them home to make a truly individual gift or stocking filler for friends and family.

Gemma encourages shoppers to visit when items are selling well, although stock is regularly replenished until Christmas.

The exhibition runs until December 23 at the Qube Gallery in Oswald Road, Oswestry. Opening hours are Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
