Patricia Caicedo visits UNCSA and focuses on Spanish and Latin American art song

Guest artist Patricia Caicedo will visit UNCSA from October 25-28 to present lectures related to her research on Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American artistic song.

  • 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 26 – Lecture/Recital at Crawford Hall
  • 4:00 p.m. Thursday, October 27 – Lecture in the UNCSA Library Auditorium
  • Noon, Friday, October 28 – Conference at the UNCSA Library, fourth floor

Caicedo is a soprano with a body of recordings on Spotify and YouTube. A well-known musicologist, she is also the founder of the Barcelona Song Festival and an authority on the development of artistic song in Spanish, Portuguese and Catalan. Her ideas on nationalism, music and societal health, and the recognition of female composers will be the foundation of her presentation to the UNCSA community. She has a doctorate. in Musicology from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and Doctor of Medicine from the Escuela Colombiana de Medicina.
