PARKERBURG — The Parkersburg Art Center will hold its annual Y’Art sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the center of Eighth and Market streets in downtown Parkersburg.
There will also be an Early Bird sale from 5-7 p.m. Friday. Admission to the Early Bird Sale is free for Art Center members and $10 for others.
The sale, which serves as a fundraiser for PAC and its programs, includes a wide variety of items ranging from art supplies to finished art.
“We have original works of art. We have fine art prints, some are even signed and numbered, we have picture frames, art books, beads, displays, holiday items and a whole load of other cool stuff for sale – cheap », said Jessie Siefert, the center’s chief executive. “We have received so many wonderful donations from our supporters as they downsize or renovate. Artists donate what they no longer use. We keep and use what works for our programs, but we have a wonderful abundance and there is time for us to share.
“This is a great sale for anyone looking to change their decor, add art to their office walls, or buy unique prints or pieces to give as gifts. It’s also a wonderful opportunity to artists to get frames for their own work. Some things may need a little TLC, but most are in good condition,” she said.
“The Y’ART sale is a great opportunity for the art center to offer high quality items at low prices while generating funds to support community arts outreach programs. said Kasey Snyder, who is leading this year’s sales effort. “We have an excellent committee of volunteers who work hard to organize and price the items for sale. We hope to see some new and familiar faces here on Friday and Saturday.
“If you can hang it, display it, make a craft project out of it, wrap something in it, decorate it…. it’s YART and we have 9,000 square feet of it,” said Abby Hayhurst, Artistic Director.
There is plenty of free parking in the parking lots along Eighth Street between Market and Juliana Streets. More information is available on Facebook, at www.parkersburgartcenter.org or by calling 304-485-3859.
