Anna Webb, a senior at Campbellsville University of Magnolia, will have a reception as part of her senior art exhibit from 2:30-5:30 p.m. today at the Pence-Chowning Art Gallery, 205 University Drive in Campbellsville.
Webb’s exhibit is open at the art gallery and ends today.
“I have spent most of my life observing. Whether it was watching TV, my family or the people in the store, I was fascinated by people, what they were doing and what they were thinking,” she said. “I wanted to understand them. When I penetrated so deeply into a person’s aura, I often had to do something with it.
Webb is an artist, writer and filmmaker. Her interests are writing novels, making movies, making doll clothes, and Korean and Chinese history/culture.
“My mother encouraged me to draw from an early age,” she said. “With my portraits, I like to focus on the essence of the person I’m drawing to reflect their real appearance with an artistic touch to the pencil strokes.”
Webb worked as a presenter, reporter and producer from 2018 to 2022 at radio station WLCU-FM in Campbellsville.
She and her sister, April Webb, have film projects and roles including the short film “Heavy Price” (2018), the short film “Gift” in 2019 and a short film “Another Day” in 2020.
Webb graduated in May with a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in art and a focus on graphic design.
