DNACA presents: Sundae + Mr. Goessl in concert

DNACA is pleased to present the award-winning duo Sundae + Mr. Goessl, Friday, March 11 at 7 p.m. at the Tolowa Event Center, 350 N. Indian Road, Smith River (inside the Lucky 7 Casino Complex). This retro-cool act encompasses jazz, pop, country, comedy and vaudeville, featuring award-winning vocalist Kate Voss and virtuoso guitarist Jason Goessl, who has performed with jazz greats like guitarist Charlie Byrd. Sundae often surprises her audience with a melodica solo and JazzTimes says her “voice reflects the authenticity of that era”. Solo Art Exhibition by Nancy Bachman

DNACA’s Art in Public Places program features a solo exhibition by artist Nancy Bachman, which was featured in DNACA’s 30th Annual Art Show. Nancy’s exhibition is titled “Once Upon a Time” and consists of oil paintings depicting mostly Western scenes. The exhibit is on view through June 16 at the 2nd Floor Mezzanine of Airport CEC, 1650 Dale Rupert Rd, Crescent City. The exhibition can be seen during the opening hours of the airport terminal: from 6 am to 8 pm on weekdays, from 6 am to 10 am and from 5 pm to 8 pm on Saturdays and from 6 am to 2 pm and from 5 pm to 8 pm on Sundays. Carol Schach Memorial Art Exhibition

Del Norte Association for Cultural Awareness is pleased to present a solo exhibit by photographer and poet Carol Schach at the Del Norte County Courthouse through April 21. The exhibit, titled “Fleeting Miracles” after her book of the same name, features Carol’s photographs and original poetry. All artwork sold from this exhibit will benefit DNACA programs. Crescent City Art at 1228 2nd St., Crescent City, is open to the public Wednesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The gallery’s Artist of the Month is painter Susan Humphries. Member art exhibits also include spray paint artist Spencer Bishop at the Del Norte County Library, watercolor artist Pauline Lodolini at the Smith River Library, and an exhibit by various artists at the Infusion Center of the Sutter Coast Hospital and in the main hall of Sutter Coast Hospital. Crescent Harbor Art Gallery

Coast Redwoods Art Association, Crescent Harbor Art Gallery’s Artist of the Month for March is Claire Heaster, whose ethereal watercolors and pastels of sailing ships, ocean scenes and moonscapes have been called “fascinating”. Claire moved to Crescent City eighteen years ago, where the redwoods, ocean shores, and fog are “her muses.” The gallery will host a Plein Air art demo with local artist Jonathan Gaetke on Thursday, March 24, beginning with a potluck lunch at 11 a.m., with the demo to follow. The public is invited to attend. Gaetke will also lead a Plein Air workshop on April 2 and 3. Please contact the gallery for registration details. The Arts and Culture Gallery

The Arts and Culture Gallery at 175 H Street features the oil paintings of award-winning artist Daniel Desmond. While Dan and his artist wife Marianne Strehler moved to Crescent City several years ago, he has been painting in oils for over 60 years and focuses primarily on landscapes and seascapes. The gallery is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and masks will be required inside the gallery at all times.
