ALIGAR: Ms. Yamini Baghel and Ms. Farheen from the Department of Fine Arts and Ms. Adiba Nizami and Ms. Rashi Sharma from the Women’s College of Aligarh Muslim University received the four best painting awards at the end of the annual exhibition of three-day art ‘2022 organized by the Fine Arts Department of Moinuddin Art Gallery.
Chief Guest, Prof. Mohammad Gulrez (Pro-Vice-Chancellor) and Guest of Honour, Prof. Naima Khatoon (Principal, Women’s College) congratulated the winners with award certificates.
The member of the jury and also guest of honor, Professor Sadre Alam (Former Dean, Faculty of Fine Arts, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi), appreciated the works presented at the exhibition for their quality.
Congratulating the students for their fascinating works of art, Professor Mohd Gulrez said such exhibitions work as confidence-building measures for young artists and help them assess challenges in finding suitable placements and building careers.
Professor Naima Khatoon commended the female students’ participation in the exhibition and urged them to work with more vigor and passion and achieve excellence in this field.
Professor Badar Jahan (Chairman of the Department of Fine Arts and Coordinator of the Moinuddin Ahmad Art Gallery) said that the works exhibited in the art gallery were the result of various mediums, styles and experiences carried out by the students at the over the years.
Dr. Waseem Mushtaq led the proceedings of the awards ceremony.
